Nov 2015 notes – Cross Country Continues

The Club would like to thank all the volunteers who helped out over the Saturday and Sunday when the club hosted the County Juvenile B Cross Country and Masters Championships in Shankil. Many thanks to landowner John Mulcahy who allowed his field to be invaded by enthusiastic runners and supporters. Silverware success at Munsters

Last Sunday the club traveled to WIT to participate in the Munster Even age Cross Country. Conor Hayes and Charlie Nicholson ran in a large U-10 Field followed by Leila O’Reilly and Lucy Barry in the Girls U-12. Kevin Barry was our sole representative in the boys U-14 on this hilly course. The first of our silverware winners was Meghan Carr in the U-14 girls race who ran superbly to come home in second position and also the first Cork girl home. Our Girls U-16 team made up of Sara Barry, Laura Hayes, Caoimhe Hayes, Sarah Mulcahy and Natalie Nicholson retained their winning form by winning a team silver and following yet another determined second place finish for Laura Hayes.
