A yellow weather warning was issued for Munster on the bank holiday Monday but that did not dampen spirits of all those taking part. St. Catherine’s were represented in all 3 races, the marathon, the half marathon and the relay. The highlight on the day is without doubt John Beechers time of 2:48, a well deserved personal best which earned him a fantastic 21st place in the marathon. Well done John & to all who represented the club on the day.

The Greater Manchester Marathon
Ballycotton 10 – 2015
The 38th Annual Ballycotton 10 mile road race took place last Sunday 8th March in glorious spring sunshine. Large crowds gathered from early morning in the beautiful fishing village in East Cork for this much anticipated race. The weather played its part in creating a great atmosphere for this well run event. St. Catherines had 9 athlete’s competing on the day, a smaller than usual number due to injuries. Mike Byrne finished in under 1 hour and also finished in the top 100 athletes home. Both John Beecher, Kevin Hayes and had excellent runs also and finished in the top 200. Our other participants on the day were Catherine Clancy, Alan Carr, Aidan & Patricia Barry and Colin & Georgina Cunningham. Well done to all and also a word of thanks to all those who supported our athletes on the day.
