Athletics Training Resumes

Training resumes in September

  • Juvenile training is back on Mondays and Thursdays at 7pm
  • Adult Training on Tuesday 7pm (starting with the monthly 3k – First Tuesday every month. Interval training every other Tuesday)
  • Fit for life resumes on Wednesday at 7pm
  • Little Athletics starts on the 8th September
  • The club also meet every Saturday at 10am at the woods beside Leahy’s Open Farm (outside Ballynoe) for a easy jog

Well done Catherine, Kathleen and John

We would like to say a special congratulations to club athletes Catherine Clancy (2nd Female), Kathleen O’Brien (1st Female O60) and John Beecher (2nd Male) in the overall results at the end of the Streets of Fermoy road race series 2014 last night.

Kathleen has been a welcome addition to the club with some great results since joining. Catherine has been going from strength to strength with PBs and prizes in a number of races in 2014. While John has produced super times across multiple disciplines ranging from 3k, 5k, 5 & 10 miles but most notably The Cork City Marathon (30th Place – 2:56:59) and the Connemara Ultra Marathon (23rd Place – 5:13:19). Well done all.

St Catherines A.C out on force in Coolagown

Last Night St Catherines travelled to the annual Coolagown 5k Road Race. Some great results and times  were got on the night from the large group of St Catherines athletes that travelled. Well done to all!

 

Tallow 5.5k Road Race

Well done to everyone who took part in Tallow 5.5km road race today. There was a great turn out of local runners on a very hot day for running and thankfully nobody got lost!haha

 

Cork City Marathon 2014

This June bank holiday Monday thousands of runners will arrive in Cork City for the annual running of the Cork City Marathon. This is a great running event with a fantastic buzz in the city. As with last year the club will be well represented in the various running events on the day. Best of luck to all of our athletes taking part… PBs all round 😉 

P.S. Some of us will be meeting up in the Clarion Hotel after the marathon. All welcome to come along.

Community Games Trials

Just a quick post to let everyone know that Grange AC will run the community games trials next Tues (27th May) at 6:30pm at Colaiste track, Fermoy. The County finals are on the 22nd June.
