Dublin Marathon
Only one place to start this week. What a day of great peformances in Dublin on Sunday. A marathon that always brings the crowds out. It may have been wet but this didn’t dampen peoples spirits. Well done to everyone. Your training paid off and you did the club proud. And you even managed to do it with a smile. It is time for them to enjoy their rest and we look forward to them getting back to 400 repeats later this week. Mike Byrne was first home in 2:49, followed by Darren Bourke in 3:25, then Breda and Richie Lynch took a break from the kids for 3 hours and 32 mins to complete it together, Paddy Ryan then in 3:39 followed by Georgina Cunningham in 4:12.
Spooky Halloween Run
And then for something different on Friday night. We had 3 members who headed to Kilworth for the the Halloween Spooky 5km and half marathon. A race that started at 8pm in the dark through the woods of Kilworth. Running through water knee deep, lots of climbing and plenty of places to hide if you wanted to but our members kept going. Well done to Catherine Clancy on her 1st place in her category in the 5km event. Dave O’Connor and Noel Early took on the half distance and their legs definitely felt the efforts the next day. With about 400m of elevation it certainly tested every running out there.
